What is the Department of North Carolina, Marine Corps League doing with a Veterans Service Officer Program?

If you are a Marine or FMF Corpsman interested in researching Veterans benefits that you may be entitled to, or need to file a claim with the US Department of Veterans Affairs, our Volunteer Veteran Service Officers are ready to assist you with your requests!

Why do we have a Veterans Service Officer Program?

The Marine Corps League’s mission statement, in part, reads:

….. voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and to their widows and orphans…..”

As Marine Corps League members, we perform this service because, as Marines, we are a ‘Band of Brothers’.  The camaraderie we share as Marines is second to none.  From day one in recruit training, we are taught to protect the Marine on either side of you, no matter what the cost, for they will surely put their lives on the line for you!  Many of us in the League are no longer on active duty.  We cannot be warriors on the front lines, but we stand ready to be warriors in our communities.  The Marine experience is like no other in the US military, and who better to assist a Marine than a Marine who understands where you've been and what you've been through.  This is exactly why we have created our very own Veterans Service Officer Program.  We are here to help build better lives for our Marines and their families.

About the MCL Department of North Carolina Information Center

Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purposes of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps. This is accomplished by banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorable discharged from that service; voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines and to their widows and orphans, and by perpetuating the history of the United States Marine Corps through fitting acts to observe the anniversaries and historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.
